Ottavio Alfieri

Biography

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma in 1971 , he obtained the Specialization in Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Bari in 1979 and he obtained the Specialization in Cardiopulmonary Surgery at the Royal Netherlands Medical Association of Utrecht in 1981 . From 1971 to 1976 he was a medical assistant at the Ospedali Riuniti di Bergamo . From 1976 to 1977is a Clinical Fellow at the Children's Hospital of the University of New York in Buffalo . From 1977 to 1979 he was a Research Fellow at the University of Alabama in Birmingham . From 1979 to 1980 he was Chief Resident of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit at St. Antonius Hospital in Utrecht . From 1982 to 1986 he is Visiting professor at the University of Gdansk. From 1986 to 1996 he was Head of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the Spedali Civili of Bresciaand of the Cardiac Surgery Unit of the Pinna Pintor Clinic of Turin . From 1987 to 1998 he is a contract professor of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Brescia and at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome . From 1990 to 1994 he is a contract professor of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Pisa . From 1997 to 1998 he is a contract professor of Cardiac Surgery at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. From 1997 to today she is Head of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan . From 2004 to date he is Professor at the San Raffaele Vita-Salute University
