Biography
"PhD in Paleontology (1990). Royal Society Scholarship (1990) at the Natural History Museum (London). Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Basel, Switzerland (1991). CNR fellowship (1992-3). University Researcher in Paleontology and Paleoecology (scientific sector D01A-GEO/1) at ""La Sapienza"" University (Rome) from 1994 to 2001. Associate professor in Paleontology and Paleoecology at the same university since 2001. Since 2009, Head of the Master of Science in Exploration Geology degree at La Sapienza University. Member of the Editorial Board of the Bollettino della Società Paleontologica Italiana, Geologica Romana (up to 2008), the Journal of the Indian Palaeontological Society, and the Mediterranean Journal of Earth Sciences."
Research Interest
"Systematics, paleobiogeography and paleoecology of Late Cretaceous-Miocene Neo-Tethyan larger foraminifera, Biostratigraphy and paleoenvironmental analysis of Paleogene carbonate deposits, Systematics and ecology of recent benthic foraminifera, with special reference to the Indo-Pacific and Mediterranean domains, Systematics, biostratigraphy and structure of Mesozoicaulacocerid coleoid cephalopods."
