Biography
Born in La Spezia on August 4, 1958, Mr. Scaffardi graduated with a degree in naval and mechanical engineering from University of Genoa, and completed postgraduate courses at Oxford, the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan and Columbia University in New York City. Mr. Scaffardi joined the Company in 1992 after having worked at Medov S.p.A., Saipem S.p.A. (a member of the Eni group), Cameli & Co. S.p.A. and Indutech S.p.A. Since 1999, he has been Saras' Supply and Trading Director, and as such is responsible for our commercial activities, including refining contracts and the sale and transport of refined petroleum products. In October 2006 was appointed General Manager of Saras S.p.A. and member of the Board of Directors. As of 27th February 2013 Mr. Scaffardi became also Executive Vice President (Vice Presidente Esecutivo), vested with wide-ranging powers in relation to the company's operating activities.
