David Barnes

Biography

David Barnes is executive vice president and chief financial officer of MWH, now part of Stantec, headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado.  With more than 25 years of financial and management experience, he provides leadership to the MWH finance, information technology and procurement teams around the world. Mr. Barnes is committed to enabling MWH to achieve its business purpose of Building a Better World.  He has a strong focus on ensuring the highest standards of business ethics and believes that good financial management can protect the company’s assets and reputation while setting the foundation for future growth. Mr. Barnes joined MWH in 2009 from the Western Union Company, where he led finance, strategy and business development. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of RadioShack, Coors Brewing (U.S.) and YUM Brands in China.  He started his career as a consultant with Bain & Company in Boston. He serves on the advisory committee for the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program at the University of Colorado Business School in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Barnes also serves on the board of directors (and Chairman of the Audit Committee) of CSG Systems International, a publicly-held provider of business support solutions for the communications industry. Outside the office, Mr. Barnes enjoys golf and running. Mr. Barnes holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Yale University and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School. He lives in Louisville, Colorado.
