Crossbow Cecilia is working as Professor in Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn at Italy.

Research Interest

My research interest is the microbial ecology with particular attention to the abundance and distribution of the picoplankton both autotrophic and heterotrophic and in particular to the composition and metabolic activity of the main heterotrophic bacterial groups and their role in the marine ecosystem. To analyze the distribution of the coastal planctonic community of the Gulf of Naples I use flow cytometry. In particular, analysis of seawater samples for enumeration and their optical scatter and fluorescence characteristics that allow the identification of subpopulations and / or physiological adaptations to the luminous or nutritional field (photoactylation).
