Research Interest
Mine research is focused on the use of biological models ranging from primary producers to invertebrates up to the vertebrates. Bio responses logics induced by classical and nanomaterial contaminants are studied through the study of disorders of ability to hatching, reproduction, development, growth, the behavior and survival. The scientific areas in which the ' ecotoxicology is applied, in coupled with chemical analysis, are: the monitoring of the impacts of anthropogenic emissions from plants - shore of gas extraction, of rigassificatori and marine ducts for the transport of electrical current; identifies the threshold values for hazardous contaminants to the marine ecosystem; the evaluation of the ecotoxicity of disinquiners used for land reclamation from accidental contamination by petroleum hydrocarbons. Actually my interest and is oriented to the in vivo study of the effects of nanoparticles and nanoplasts in biological models at different levels of the marine trophic chain and on definition of specific procedures for conducting toxicity tests on nanomaterials. There my experience has for centuries been focused on validation, intercalibration and standardization methods for the conducting biological tests.
