Biography
Prof. Belfort is the author of 200+ peer reviewed articles and 10 books, a member of the International Board of several journals including Ophthalmology American Journal Ophthalmology. He specializes in inflammatory, infectious and autoimmune diseases such as uveitis, allergy, dry eye, rheumatic diseases, herpes infections, conjunctivitis, and in the surgical area his main area of expertise is in cataract surgery, retina and refractive surgery. Prof. Belfort is affiliated with numerous societies, including: President of the World Symposium on Uveitis (1988) and the Pan-American Congress of Ophthalmology (1989); Past-Secretary General Member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery; and Former advisor to the Regional Council of Medicine of São Paulo.
