Research Interest

1) Pharmacological and toxicological studies on lactants of plant origin, with particular reference to antrachinonic drugs ( Cassia angustifolia, Cassia acutifolia, Rhamnus purshiana, Aloe ferox ). 2) Pharmacological activity of plant extracts and their active ingredients, with particular reference to extracts derived from medicinal plants traditionally used for the treatment and / or prevention of pathologies in the digestive tract (eg inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer, dyspepsia). 3) Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacovigilance of Medicinal Products Products. Particular attention has been paid to (i) medicinal plants used to treat disorders and peculiarities of the female genitals (menopausal and pregnancy disorders), (ii) medicinal plants used for the prevention of gastrointestinal tumors, (iii) pharmacological interactions between medicinal plants and conventional medicines.
