Biography
She graduated in Pharmacy and has a PhD in "Chemistry of Pharmacologically Active Natural Substances" both at Pharmacy Faculty of the Federico II University of Naples. FULBRIGHT Fellow worked for six months in Wilmington (North Carolina, USA) in 2000 to a research project devoted to the analysis of porphyry in the Caribbean Sea. In 2004 he taught Organic Chemistry at the University of Davis, California. She is Professor of Organic Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Substances at the Department of Pharmacy of the same University. She is engaged in research in the field of natural substances with potential pharmacological activity, in particular of natural substances extracted from marine organisms to be used as a guiding compound in the search for new anticancer and anti-inflammatory drugs.
