Biography
Ferdinando Fiorino was born in Naples on July 5, 1971. He graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Naples "Federico II" on March 27, 1995, discussing an experimental thesis in Pharmacy and Toxicology Chemistry titled "Synthesis and Biological Activity of peptide antagonists of substance P ", rapporteur Prof. Giuseppe Caliendo. After graduating, Dr. Fiorino has been teaching and researching at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Naples "Federico II": - He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the XIth cycle (1996-1999), discussing a thesis titled "Synthesis and Pharmacological Activity of Benzotriazinone and Benzotriazole Derivatives to Serotoninergic Activity", under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Caliendo. - In 1998 he was awarded a research contract by the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Chemistry in the framework of the following research project: "Design, synthesis, characterization and therapeutic systems of serotoninergic compounds" funded by funds provided by the Region Law Campania n ° 41 of 31/12/94. - In 1999 he was the winner of the competition for a part-time contract to support and integrate the tutoring activities - Faculty of Pharmacy - banned from the University of Naples Federico II - Center of Scientific Didactic Services, the scope of the project "P.Or.TA". - In May 2001, Dr. Fiorino was the winner of a competition for the assignment of a two-year research grant (Chim / 08- Chimica Farmaceutica disciplinary field) at the Department of Pharmacy and Toxicology Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the ' University of Naples Federico II. From 1 January 2002 to 1 March 2003 Dr. Ferdinando Fiorino spent a period of study and research at the Max-Planck-Institut laboratories in Munich - Germany - at the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry, led by Prof. Luis Moroder. - Dr. Ferdinando Fiorino was appointed on January 18, 2005 as a researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Naples "Federico II" for the CHIM / 08 grouping as a winner of the competition for a researcher at SSD CHIM / 08 - Pharmaceutical Chemistry - (Published in the Official Journal - Special Series 4 - No. 28 of 09/04/2004 - Suppl. Ord.). In the three years following the nomination, he served as a Full-time Researcher with the following teaching assignments: - In the a. 2005/06 he was awarded the "Teaching Therapeutic and Environmental Toxicology" for the Degree Course in "Quality Control and Environmental Risk Assessment". - From aa. 2006/07 at da. 2010/11 he was awarded the "Teaching Chemistry" Teaching Approach for the "Quality Control" Degree Course. - From aa. 2009/2010 has today been assigned the task of "Therapeutic Chemistry I" for the Bachelor Degree in "Scientific Information on Drug and Diagnostic Products". - From aa. 2010-2011 to date, the role of the "Toxicological Chemistry" under the 2nd level Master in REACH. Lessons have been supplemented by exercises and seminars on key topics. Dr. Ferdinando Fiorino has been Chairman of the Examination Committees of the same disciplines and has also been a member of the Examination Commissions of: "Drug Analysis II", "Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Chemistry", "Analytical Chemistry and I Medicinal Analysis I" "Extractive and Synthetic Drug Preparation Laboratory". He also participated in the Bureau of Quality Control, Scientific Information on the Medication and Diagnostic Products, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. Dr. Fiorino also actively participates in organizing and completing practical exercises for students in the courses of "Analytical Chemistry and I Medicinal Analysis I", " Finally, he is performing compilation thesis programming and instructing numerous students in experimental theses in the laboratories of the research group he teaches, teaching them all about chemical and instrumental techniques for the synthesis and characterization of biologically active molecules. he has participated as an actual member at the following examination committees: · Analysis of Medicines II · Laboratory of Extraction and Synthesis of Drugs Analytical Chemistry and Analysis of Medicinal Products Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry Dr. Ferdinando Fiorino was appointed as a member of the "Didactic" Degree Course in Quality Control and a Member of the Faculty Council as a Research Representative for the academic year 2007/2010. Ø Dr. Fiorino was appointed as a member of the Commission for Examination for the PhD in Pharmacy Science - XXIII Cycle with DR No. 4073 (University of Naples Federico II of 30/11/2010). The dr. Fiorino was tutor of dr. Antonio Ciano, PhD in Pharmacology Science XXVI cycle; title of PhD dissertation: Synthesis of new ligands for serotoninergic receptors 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A, 5-HT2C and their pharmacological evaluation.
Research Interest
From 1995 until today, Dr. Ferdinando Fiorino has been doing full-time research at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Chemistry at the University of Naples "Federico II". Dr. Fiorino's research represents the continuation of studies undertaken in the last decade and, in particular, based on the subject, can be divided into the following two directions: 1) Synthesis and relationship structure activity in series of both heterogeneous and biologically active peptide or pseudopeptide compounds; 2) Development and application of new synthetic methodologies;
