Research Interest

The scientific activity of Prof. Miro has focused essentially on topics of Pharmaceutical Technology, with particular reference to the design and development of therapeutic systems aimed at the optimization of pharmacokinetics and hence the pharmacological profile of bioactive molecules and hence the pharmacological profile of bioactive molecules Particular attention is paid to the development of bioadhesive therapeutic systems and swellable hydrophilic matrices containing cyclodextrins as defined excipients as "smart excipients" for the controlled release of oral and buccal drugs. The research activity has now come to fruition in 47 scientific articles, 4 reviews, 2 book chapters, 1 patent, to which numerous communications to national and international conferences are to be added. The results of these researches were also the subject of more than 100 contributions at national and international conferences.
