Research Interest
Prof. Elisa Perissutti's research activity is aimed at synthesizing and studying the structure-activity relationships of serotonin and analgesic-anti-inflammatory heterocyclic and peptide compounds. At the same time, a series of studies on the cardiovascular system were conducted by synthesis of 1,4-benzoxazine and peptidomimetic compounds. Part of these studies allowed us to deepen the role played by protease-activated receptors (PARs) in some onclogic and cardiovascular pathophysiological processes. Finally, synthetic studies have been undertaken aimed at optimizing the synthesis of bioactive molecules by applying innovative chemistry based on the use of microwaves and the principles of combinatorial chemistry. In particular, it has been investigated, by means of electromagnetic microwave heating, the possibility of making the synthesis of biologically active heterocyclic and peptide compounds more rapid but also more convenient. The research activity is carried out in 93 journals in international magazines with impact factor, to which numerous communications to congresses and conferences are to be added.
