Biography
Antonella Virgilio obtained a PhD in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology in 2002 discussing an experimental thesis on organic chemistry titled "Structural analysis of quadruplex containing PNA-DNA chimeras". He was qualified as a pharmacist in the first session of the year 2003. In 2006 he received his Ph.D. degree in Medicine Science at the University of Naples "Federico II", discussing a thesis titled "Summary and structural analysis of oligonucleotides and analogues forming quadruplex structures ". He has been awarded the National Scientific Ability to the role of second-tier Professor of Disciplinary Science 03 / C1 (Organic Chemistry) in the 1st session ASN 2016/2018.
Research Interest
Dr. Virgilio's research is focused on the design, synthesis and structural analysis of modified oligonucleotides capable of forming G-quadruplex structures.
