Research Interest
Scientific activity is concerned with the use of biotechnology-based microbes beneficial for the biological control of plant diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, nematodes and harmful insects; molecular and biochemical studies of the mechanisms involved in the mechanisms of bio-control and pathogenicity; biochemical and taxonomic characterization of important fungal pathogens and antagonists; plant-pathogen-antagonist interactions; development and transfer of new biotechnologies useful in the promotion and marketing of organic products in the agricultural sector, using innovative strategies to protect crops from pathogens; improvement of plant resistance and growth; improvement of production yields and the quality of agri-food products - including nutritional aspects.
