Biography
In July 1982 follows the scientific high school diploma at the Liceo Scientifico Statale "G. Mercalli" of Naples. On 15 March 1989, at the Faculty of Science MM.FF.NN. of the University of Naples "Federico II", follows cum laude degree in Natural Sciences discussing the experimental thesis in zoology "The species of the genus Hydraena Kugelann (Coleoptera, Hydraenidae) and the biogeografia systems reici Italiani" (rapporteur Prof. M. Milone; correlator dr. P.A. Audisio) and the essay in Geology "Geodynamics and paleogeografica evolution of the Mediterranean: the marginal basins" (rapporteur prof. L. Simone). From March to June 1990 friusce a scholarship at the Italsiel s.p.a of Rome ( Iri-Finsiel group), for full-time attendance of a course of informatics (data analysis and structured programming for software development) overcoming the same with positive outcome. From July 1990 to December 1994 is part of the staff of the advice of the Agrisiel, Society of informatics for Agriculture, Territory and environment p.a., taking an interest in computer applications in the field of agriculture and the environment. In this context deals with the design and development of software and relational database, and the planning of projects of environmental management based on methodologies GIS and Remote Sensing. From January 1995 to October 1997 provides consultancy for applications and the use of the techniques GIS and Remote Sensing in the management of environmental resources in zoological field and participates to the project financed by the European Union "A databank for the conservation and management of the African mammals. European Commission, Project No. B7-6200-94- 15/VIII/ENV/1994/67". In this context it deals with the design and development of software and research, collection, processing and management of geographic data, remotely sensed faunal and for the application of methodologies GIS at the analysis of geographical distributions of African mammals. In this context also coordinates the activities of the field carried out in Cameroon for the significance of the environmental parameters and data of faunistic presence, and spends in the central African country a period of work for the realization of the census of mammals of medium and large in size. From November 1997 to October 2000 he attended the School of Doctoral Studies in Animal Biology at the Department of Animal Biology and of the man of the University of Rome "La Sapienza". In the academic year 1999-2000 is PhD student exchange at the Department of Ecology and evolution of the State University of New York at Stony Brook (USA). In March 2001 follows the title of Research Doctor in Animal Biology discutenda the thesis "genetic variability and levels of trophic specialization in antofagi insects of the genus Meligethes (Coleoptera, Nitidulidae)".
