Biography

Degree in Biological Sciences in 1971 at the University of Rome La Sapienza. In the years 1973-75 is fellow of the Ministry of Education. In the years 1975-80 research contract at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Rome . In the years 1978-79 plays a period of research at the Division of Microbiology, National Institute for Medical Research, MRC, London (GB). In the years 1981-87 Confirmed Researcher at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Rome La Sapienza. In the years 1987-92 Associate Professor of microbiological Technologies" at the University of Bologna. Since 1987 plays repeatedly periods of research at the Center de Genetique Moleculaire (Gif-sur-Yvette, France) and at the Institut Curie (Orsay, France). In 1989 is "instructor" in the EMBO course on "Genetic manipulation of Yeasts". In 1992 organizes the Congress "Biological Systems immobilized" held in Bologna. In the years 1993-2001 Associate Professor of Chemistry of the fermentations and industrial microbiology" at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". Since 2002 Professor of "Chemistry of the fermentations and industrial microbiology" at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He currently teaches in Degree Courses in biology, biotechnology and industrial chemistry. Since 1976 he is member of the Italian Society of Biophysics and Molecular Biology from 1982 is a founder member of the Italian Society of General microbiology and microbial Biotechnology.
