Biography
Anna Garavelli Born on November 26, 1963 Married, 2 children Researcher confirmed at the Department of Earth and Geo-environmental Sciences (former Geomineralogical Department) of the University of Bari Professor Aggregate to teaching staff Lecturer in several courses relating to GEO / 06 and GEO / 09 disciplinary grouping for CCS of Cultural Heritage Sciences, Science and Technology for the Diagnostics and Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Geological Sciences and University Master's and PhD Doctorate in Earth Sciences at the University of Bari. Tutor for students of the aforementioned CCS, University Master and PhD. FORMATIVE / PROFESSIONAL / RESEARCH ACTIVITIES He graduated in Geological Sciences with grades 110/110 on July 23, 1990 at the University of Bari discussing a experimental thesis in Systematic Mineralogy titled "Research on fumarolic minerals of the Vulcano Island (Aeolian)", rapporteur of the Chiarissimo Prof. Filippo Vurro. In February 1991 he was the winner of the competition for the Doctoral Program in Earth Sciences (VI cycle) banned from the University of Bari. The course, which lasted three years from November 1, 1990, was held at the Geomineralogical Department of the University of Bari. University of Bari. In February and May 1994, he established, as an external collaborator, an independent working relationship with the Geomineralogical Dept of the University of Bari and with the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of La Sapienza University of Rome , both aimed at sampling, preparation and subsequent study of volcanic sublimation samples. In September 1994 he received the title of Doctor of Research in Earth Sciences by discussing the thesis entitled "Mineralogy and Geochemistry of Condensed Volcanic Phases: The Vulcano Island between 1990 and 1993". In February 1995 he was awarded with a 26/30 th place at the top of the merit list of a CNR-GNV scholarship under the theme "Vulcanology, Mineralogy of Volcanic Sublimations" with effect from March 1, 1995. In March 1996 he was awarded a bachelor's degree post-doctoral scholarship issued by the University of Bari. In 1996 he was the winner of the prize awarded by the Italian Mineralogical Society and Petrography for Best Thesis of PhD in Geochemical-Mineralogical Subject. Since December 15, 1997 he is a researcher (DO3A sector) of the Faculty of Science MM.FF.NN at the Department of Earth and Geo-environmental Sciences (Ex Geomineralogical Department) of the University of Bari. It has been confirmed since December 2000. Since 2005, by appointment, he is a Professor at the University of Bari. He regularly performs service at the Department of Earth and Geo-environmental Sciences (former Geomineralogical Department) of the University of Bari. From the scientific point of view, Anna Garavelli has always been concerned with problems related to rare and crystalline chemistry. Initially, its research has focused on minerals of fumarolic origin, collaborating actively with an URGNV-CNR that since 1987 has been designed to study volcanic sublimation minerals. In this area Dr. Garavelli contributed to the discovery and description of many new mineral species including barberiite, mozovaite, vurroite and mutnovskite. Particular attention has been paid to the crystalline chemistry of sulfuric and sulphosal salts of the Pb-Bi and Pb-Bi-As system. He currently collaborates with an international project on the mineralogical study of sublimates of Icelandic volcanoes and the Mediterranean basin.
