Biography
Born in 1953. He graduated in Physics at the University of Pisa on July 15, 1975. From 1976 to 1983 he was Research Assistant at the Nuclear Physics Laboratory of the University of Oxford, England, in the group led by DH Perkins. Researcher at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics in Pisa from 1983 to 1985 and Assistant Professor of Physics at Tufts University, Boston, USA, 1985 to 1987. Associate Professor of Physics since 1988; at the University of Ferrara until 1995 and then at the University of Cagliari. He has been an Ordinary Professor since 2001. On leave of the University, he was a Scientific Associate at EP CERNGeneva, 1992 and 2000. He was coordinator of the PhD School of Physics at the University of Cagliari in 1999. Director of the Ferrara Section of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics for the three-year period 1989-1992. From August 1, 2007 to August 31, 2014, he was director of the INFN Cagliari Section .
