Biography

CARLA CANNAS Degree in Chemistry (vote 110/110 graduated magna cum laude) in 1996 at the University of Cagliari with a thesis entitled "Synthesis and characterization of nanocomposite Ni-SiO 2 ". From 1997 to 1999 she has been holding a biennial contract funded by INSTM, INCM, for the conduct of research "Synthesis and characterization of MeO / SiO 2 nanocomposites at the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University of Cagliari. From 1999 to 2002 he was the holder of a MIUR research grant titled "Synthesis and characterization of nanocomposite materials" and since 2000 he attended the Doctoral Program of PhD (XVIII Cycle) in Chemistry. In 2002 he became a researcher in the scientific-disciplinary field CHIM / 03-General Chemistry and Inorganic at the Faculty of Science MM. FF. NN. of the University of Cagliari. He received his PhD in February 2003 by discussing a thesis titled "Structural and Magnetic Characterization of Fe 2 O 3 -SiO 2 " under the supervision of Prof. Giorgio Piccaluga. In 2014, he served as Associate Professor of General Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry (CHIM / 03) at the University of Cagliari. Scientific activity is part of the chemistry of inorganic materials, with particular reference to chemical synthesis and correlations between structural, compositional, morphological properties and physical properties (magnetic and optical) or reactivity (catalytic and sorbent properties) of nanosystems. In the wider context of the business's location, which is that of chemical nanotechnologies, it has gained twenty years of expertise both in bottom-up chemical synthesis of inorganic oxide-based nanocomposites and in their chemical-physical characterization with a multi-technical approach. The scientific activity is documented by 88 papers on JCR (ISI Magazine) censuses; an American patent, two chapters of books, a critical review, and about 130 communications to congresses. It has a h-index of 26 and about 2000 citations on Scopus and ISIweb, an h-index of 30 and about 2600 quotes on Google Scholar. He has received the National Scientific Qualification from Prof. Ordinary in the sectors 03 / B1 (Fundamentals of Chemical Sciences and Inorganic Systems) and 03 / B2 (Chemical Technology Fundamentals). Validity: December 23, 2013- December 23, 2019. He is currently vice-coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Chemistry and Chemistry, a delegate of the University of Cagliari in the Consortium INSTM Consortium, Scientific Coordinator of the AUSI Consortium, Scientific Director of the Center CREATE (Energy Research Center, Environment and TErritorio), is part of the Scientific Committee of the CESA Project (Center for Excellence for Environmental Sustainability), CeSAR Executive Director for Electronic Microscopy CeSAR (Center for Research Services), is a member of the Commission Erasmus of the Degree Course in Chemistry and the Teaching and Parity Commission of the Degree Course in Industrial Biotechnology. He has taught courses or modules of General Chemistry, General Chemistry Laboratory, Materials Chemistry Laboratory, Electronic Microscopy in Transmission in Chemistry Study Courses, Materials Science, Chemical Sciences and Industrial Biotechnologies. He also held several first and second tier master courses, schools, postgraduate courses and doctoral courses. He is a referee of several journals: Chemistry of Materials (ACS), ACS (ACS), Nanoscale (RSC), Journal of Magnetics and Magnetic Materials (Elsevier), Journal of Physical Chemistry (ACS) , Nanotechnology (IOP), Journal of Nanoparticle Research (Springer), PCCP (RSC), Journal of Materials Chemistry (RSC), and Langmuir (ASC).
