Biography
Ster Cois is a researcher and associate professor in Sociology of the Territory at the Department of Social Sciences and Institutions of the University of Cagliari and holder of the Urban Sociology teaching at the Master's Degree in Architecture. He holds a PhD in Comparative Social Research (on Sociology of Family, Childhood and Gender Sociology) at the University of Turin, under the supervision of Prof. Chiara Saraceno and is Editing Manager of the International Scientific Journal of A "Sociological. Italian Journal of Sociology on line. " His current research interests focus primarily on the topics of social, economic and environmental sustainability in the local territorial development processes, with particular reference to the strategies for the implementation of internal areas in rural areas and the processes of requalification of disadvantaged contexts in the peripheral urban sphere; on the assessment of the social quality of places, in the dimensions of socio-economic security, social cohesion, social inclusion and empowerment; on the dynamics of asymmetry of citizenship according to gender, age, health, ethnicity and sexual orientation in resource redistribution mechanisms (labor market, informal solidarity, institutional sphere of services) and accessibility paths to public space, in a comparative perspective between national and local welfare models.
