Luciano Burderi

Professor
Department of Physics
University of Cagliari
Italy

Biography

He graduated in physics at the University of Palermo in 1989 with a vote of 110/110 and praise, and a thesis titled: A timing method for a super-pulsar in a binary system. He received his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Palermo in 1994 with a PhD thesis entitled: Time-varying phenomena in NS. Since 1994 he has been awarded several scholarships and post-doc contracts at the Italian Space Agency, the Astronomy Group of the University of Leicester where he spent three years from 1994 to 1996 and the University of Palermo. In 1999 he was hired as Astronomy Researcher at the Astronomical Observatory in Rome. In 2005 he was hired as Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at the University of Cagliari, where he currently works.

Research Interest

The research activity is based on a theoretical and observational approach, especially through the analysis of satellite data for X astronomy. In particular, Burderi 's scientific activity focused on the so - called Binaries X of Piccola Massa ( LMXB), where secondary ones have masses lower than that of the Sun.
