Biography

Ordinary Professor of SSD AGR / 01 "Economy and Rural Estimate" is the owner of "Agro-Food Economy" and "Management of Agricultural Companies". He has been working at the University of Catania since 1976, in the capacity of assistant professor, after a confirmed researcher and later associate professor. In the field of organizational activities he was deputy director and director of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Estimation (DiSEAE) of the University of Catania, Chair of the Self-Assessment Group for CampusOne Project, TFA Manager, TFA-Agrarian Referral, and rector of the Rector of the CUS Catania Board of Directors. 

Research Interest

The research has focused on a number of issues related to the production and market of food and leisure goods (ornamental plants), which have created a rich scientific production. The research activity on organization, management, environmental sustainability and the economic sustainability of citrus fruit, fruit trees (fresh fruits and dried fruit), vegetable and floricultural products has been peculiar and intense. Interestingly, research on livestock breeds of extinct races and fish products. In this context, it is also relevant to the consumption and trade of its agri-food products and vegetable and animal origin products. Also worthy of note are the research on the marketing costs of citrus fruits.
