Biography

Graduated in Agricultural Sciences (110/110 and Praise) (1988); He obtained the title of Doctor in Research (PhD) (1994); He also studied at the Station de Bioclimatologie of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) in Avignon, France. (1992, 1997, 1998); He organized, as convener, the organization of the International Symposium of ISHS entitled "Product and Process Innovation for Protected Cultivation in Mild Winter Climate" (2002, Ragusa). He co-edited the publication of the acts (Acta Horticulturae n.614, 2003). He has been a member of the Scientific Committee of several national and international conferences held in Morocco 2006, Spain 2006, Jordan 2006, Thailand 2007, Turkey 2008, Arizona 2008, Canada 2009, Spain 2009, Greece, 2011, Viterbo, 2011, Jordan 2012, Australia 2014. He has personally or as a member of the organizing committee the organization of national and international meetings and conferences. He has worked with FAO for the organization of technical tours for foreign visitors' delegations as well as as a Technical Consultant and a member of the FAO Regional Working Group on "Greenhouse Crop Production in the Mediterranean Region". He has been evaluator of international research projects and judges of publications published in international and national journals. He has been responsible for the National Operational and / or National Coordinator of Research Programs and Projects funded by the University of Catania, the Ministry of University and Research, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the European Union; As a professor in contract or assignment he has held the following courses: - Horticulture, - Protected crops, - Floriculture, - Herbal carpets, - Recreational and sports green, - Parks and gardens. From January 2011 to 2013 he was deputy director of the Department of Agricultural Sciences and Food Sciences (DISPA) of the University of Catania.
