Biography

1995 - Degree in Food Science and Technology with the highest marks and praise at the University of Catania. 1998 - Enrollment to the profession of food technologist at the University of Naples. 2000 - Ph.D. in Food Biotechnology. In the PhD, he has been researching at the laboratories of the Department of Food Science and Technology of the University of Reading (UK) under the responsibility of Dr JM Ames. 2005 - researcher for the disciplinary science disciplines AGR15 at the end of the three-year period has received the confirmation in the role. Teaching activity 2000-2001 held a series of lectures on the HACCP method and its applications under the "Quality Management in Agro-Food Industries" module of the Degree Course in Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture in Catania. 2002-2003 and 2006-2007 "Organic Chemistry" (3 CFUs) in the Integrated Course of "Chemistry" Degree Course in Economics and Management of Agro-food Enterprises, Faculty of Agronomy in Catania, based in Nicosia (Enna). chemical characterization of pigmented oranges; study of the effects of thermal damage in pigmented orange juice concentrates; evaluation of the chemical-sensory characteristics of Mediterranean agriculture products; the effects of process and composition technologies on the quality parameters of honey and hazelnuts; research on product and process innovations in the wine and citrus sector; characterization and valorisation of native vines and Sicilian wines; chemical characterization of pistachio seeds.
