John La Via

Biography

Giovanni La via is an ordinary professor at the University of Catania. Winner of the Associate Professor's Award in 1992 initially teaches the School of Mountain and Forest Economics at the University of Messina and from the 1993/94 Academic Year those of the Economy of Agro-Food Industries, Economy and Management of the Agro-Industrial Company and Product Marketing agro-food products at the University of Catania. Winner of a comparative assessment of a first-class professor is called by the University of Catania from AI 2001/2002 As a delegate of the Rector of the University of Catania, he established and coordinated the European University Bureau from 1994 to 2000, both in the preparation of projects and in the management of the initiatives and the related reporting . National (CNR, MURST) and Regional (POP Sicilia 1994/99, and Regional Agriculture and Forestry Department of the Sicilian Region) From 1996 to 2002 he is President of the Degree Course in Food Science and Technology of the University of Catania It is indicated by the EU Commission as evaluator of research programs and technological innovation of the V Framework Program In 2002 he was elected Director of the Department of Economics-Agrarian and Estimational Sciences of the University of Catania He joins the Technical Secretariat of the Agriculture and Forestry Officer of the Sicilian Region and coordinates the works. He is the author of numerous monographs and articles published in national and international scientific journals.
