Biography
Graduated in Agricultural Sciences with 110/110 marks and praise in 1990 at the University of Catania, since 1996 is a researcher for SSD AGR / 15- Food Science and Technology, at D i3A. It carries out, by AAR 1997/98, an intensive teaching activity; currently teaches "Food Packaging" for the master's degree in Food Science and Technology (LM70) and "Sensory Processes and Sensory Evaluation of Foods" for the Three Year Degree in Food Science and Technology (L26). He has been a lecturer in many degree theses and training sessions, and has several academic academic roles. He has been implementing framework agreements with some of the University of Brazil, and has conducted foreign student internships at DiSPA. He is referring to agreements with the "Latin America" ​​macro area. He received the Scientific Productivity Award 2005 "Food Packaging Research -GSICA awards" on 24/06/2005.
Research Interest
Study and extension of shelf life of agri-food products through the development of suitable packaging systems; Optimization of packaging systems for the packaging of fruit of the fourth range; Studying the interactions between food and packaging materials with particular reference to the study of the adsorption mechanisms of aromatic compounds by plastic films; Study of processing processes in the food industry and their influence on the quality of food; Determination of nutritional and chemical-physical characteristics of foods.
