Degree in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Catania with 110/110 marks and praise. • Enabling the profession of Agronomo. • Researcher at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania from 1994 • Licensing for the activity of sheep carcasser classified Expert pursuant to Reg. 2137/92 organized by the National Sheep Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. • Visiting fellow under an Exchange Visitor Program under the tutorship of Prof. Donald Beermann at Cornell University - Ithaca NY (USA) - 1995 year duration of 4 months. • Appointment, as an expert, member of the Sicilian Sheep Sheep Committee by the Agricultural and Forests Section of the Sicilian Region on behalf of the National Association of Pastoralism (ASSO.NA.PA.). • Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania since 2003. • Ordinary Professor of Special Animal Husbandry (ssd AGR / 19) at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania since 2008.
Research Interest
Relationship between breeding / feeding systems and quality of animal production. Use of by-products of the agro-food industry (citrus pulp, carob pulp, oilseed parsley) and local (leguminous grain alternatives) and meat quality. Qualitative characterization of equine meat. Oxidative Stability of Meat.
