Biography
On August 8, 1991 he graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Catania with 110/110 votes and praised the experimental thesis 'Sequencing of the exocytite viroid by enzyme amplification of cDNA (PCR)'. For the innovative content of the thesis you are awarded the degree prize of the Consorzio Catania Ricerche. On 29.10.1991 he was authorized to practice the profession of Agronomo. In 1997 he obtained the title of PhD in Productivity of Cultivated Plants, Curriculum Defense at the University of Catania, with a study on "Characterization of some citrus viroids in relation to their use to reduce the size of plants" . From August 1, 1997 to July 29, 1998, he has been researching the Genetic Enhancement of the Experimental Institute of Agrumiculture as a beneficiary of a biennial scholarship from the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Resources. From 2000 to 2005 she is a research grant at Sez. Plant pathology of the Department of Plant Health Sciences and Technologies. Since 2006 he has been a researcher in the disciplinary science field AGR / 12 Plant Pathology and nowadays joins the Department of Agriculture, Nutrition and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania. From 2007 to 2009 he is appointed European Food Security Agency (EFSA) member of Panel Plant Health's Virus Working Group (WG Virus). Since 2011 she has been working as an external scientific evaluator for the European Commission's Research Executive Agency (REA) (Marie Curie, CIG, Researchers' night). Since 2001 he has been a regular teaching activity in several Degree courses at various faculties of the Faculty of Agriculture in Catania (Nicosia, Ragusa, Catania). He is now the holder of the Applied Plant Virology course. He has spent several periods of research at national and foreign institutions and has participated in numerous national and international conferences as chairman (as documented by the publications). Since 2014 she has been Associate with the Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection of the CNR, headquarters in Turin. Dr. Tessitori has produced numerous publications, in scientific journals with auditors and divulgatives, in the field of plant pathology with particular reference to plant virology and phytoplasmology.
