Biography
Graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Catania in 1997, discussing the thesis titled "Intensive breeding tests of Dactylopius coccus at the University of Catania. Project Manager of the MICERIGE project "Improving the quality of cereals and their derivatives through the use of genetic resources for increasing the competitiveness of businesses", funded by the Sicilian Region under Measure 124 of the PSR 2007-2013 - Sicilia. He is a "master of matter" for disciplines related to the scientific discipline AGR / 11-Agricultural Entomology. Professor at the 2nd level Master in Biotechnology for Sustainable Defense of Crops and Agro-Food Production organized by IST. Superior for Formation of Excellence (Catania, 2003);Research Infrastructure for Sustainable Agriculture and Food in the Mediterranean Area - Saf @ Med " at the University of Reggio Calabria (2014) . Professor of Urban Entomology and Preservation of the Historical and Artistic Heritage related to the Degree Course in Cultural Heritage Sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Catania (AA.AA 2005-2010). General Zoologist of the Department of Animal Biology at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Catania (AA.AA 2007-09) and Complementary Defense of Animal Derived From Animal Pests in Master Degree in Food Science and Technology of the aforementioned Faculty (2009-10). Dr. Suma's scientific activity is the subject of more than 90 publications of General Entomology and applied in national and international journals; the results of his research were presented at various national and international scientific conferences.
