Biography
Prof. Rosa Rosa is an Ordinary Professor of ssd AGR / 12-Plant Pathology at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania. He has carried out and conducts research mainly in the field of phytopathology diagnostics of fungi, prokaryotes (bacteria and phytoplasms), viruses and viruses of agrarian interest, with particular reference to the application of molecular diagnosis techniques, identification and characterization of viruses and viroids of citrus fruit and vine phytoplasms. He also developed interest in research on post-harvest plant pathology, with particular regard to the identification and molecular characterization of mycotoxigenic mycoses in different plant matrices, Hygiene of food and the environment in the food industries. He has been scientific director of research projects, or UO, international and national (CNR Italy / USA, CNR Italia / CONICIT Venezuela, Italy-Spain integrated actions, CNR, MURST, MIUR, MiPAF), scientific director of a framework agreement between the Universidad Catolica Agropecuaria of Esteli, Nicacagua and the University of Catania (2008-2013), the Scientific Director of Projects and Conventions between the Sicilian Region and the University of Catania and the research projects of the University (ex 60% ,). He has been delegated to the MIUR of a Group of Territorial Interest for Southern Italy, He has been Chairman of the Scientific Committee for Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences and is currently a member of the Di3A International Commission for Internationalization. As a lecturer, in addition to the lessons and training courses related to ssd AGR / 12 in the Degree courses in Agricultural Sciences and Technology and Food Science and Technology, held seminars, lectures and invitations to the High School of Catania and for PhDs national and international in Italy and abroad. Currently he is professor of "Post-harvest Pathology of Plant Products" in the CDI in Food Science and Technology. He was also director of a Master of the Catania High School in Biotechnology for Sustainable Defense of Crops and Agro-Food Production.
