Alberto Tonini

Biography

Alberto Tonini, graduated in February 1991 in the History of Treaties and International Politics at the Faculty of Political Science in Florence (with 110 votes / 110 votes), was admitted in November 1991 to the VII Cycle of Doctorate in History of International Relations at the Department of Studies at the State of Florence, and has devoted a thesis devoted to the analysis of Western countries' politics with regard to the Palestinian question, examining the years between the conclusion of the First Arab-Israeli War and the outbreak of the crisis in Suez. In December 1995 he earned the title of Doctor of Research in History of International Relations. In December 1996 he obtained a biennial scholarship for post-doctoral research at the University of Florence. From April 1999 to April 2002 he held a research grant, co-funded by the Department of Studies on the state of the University of Florence.  Since January 2012 he is associate professor in History of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences "Cesare Alfieri" of the University of Florence. From January 2005 to December 2011 he was a Researcher in History of International Relations at the same faculty. From 2002 to 2010 he was a lecturer of the course for Senior Officials of Military Air Force, promoted by the Air Force Senior Training Division. Since November 2004 he is a member of the board of directors of SeSaMO , the Italian Society for Studies in the Middle East. Since June 2006 he has been a member of the Council of the European Association of Middle East Studies - Eurames .
