Biography
Alessandro Marconi (AM) obtained the "Degree" degree in Physics in 1993 at the University of Florence (Italy). From 1994 to 1997 he was PhD student at the University of Florence and from 1996 to 1997 he was also a research assistant at the Space Telescope Science Institute. He received his PhD in Astronomy in May 1998 and his Ph.D. thesis was awarded the "Livio Gratton" Prize in 1999. From October 1997 to October 1996 he was a researcher at the Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory (Florence). Since November 2006 he is Associate Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Physics and Astronomy Department of the University of Florence.
Research Interest
Black supermassive holes in galactic nuclei (BH, mass measurements, relationships with hostile galaxy, and AGN activities). Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN, Physical State of Broad and Narrow Line Region). AGN Interferometry with ESO-VLTI (darkening bull, Broad Line Region and black supermassive hole). Plenty of metals in starburst galaxies and cosmological evolution of mass-metallic relationship.
