Biography
Andrea De Marchi, Piedmontese born in Biella in 1962, is an Ordinary Professor of History of Medieval Art at the University of Florence after being an inspector at the Soprintendenza a Pisa (1994-1995), a researcher at the University of Lecce (1995-2000 ) and a professor at the University of Udine (2000-2006). She studied in Siena with Luciano Bellosi. His first research, on the late-painted paintings in the Marches and Venice, came into the book Gentile da Fabriano. A journey into Italian painting at the end of Gothic (1992, re-established in 2006). He has been interested in various topics concerning painting, drawing and miniature between Gothic and Renaissance. In 1996 he founded with other scholars' New Studies. Ancient and Modern Art Magazine ', of which he is editor. Together with others he has been attending several exhibitions: in 2002 onThe Quattrocento in Camerino. Light and perspective in the heart of the Brand , in 2004-2005 on Fra Carnevale. A Renaissance artist from Filippo Lippi to Piero della Francesca (Milan, Brera and New York, Metropolitan Museum), in 2005 Autour de Lorenzo Veneziano. Fragments of polyptyques of the XIVe siècle in Tours in 2006 Gentile da Fabriano and the other Renaissance in the hometown of the artist, in 2010 The arts in Siena in the early Renaissance , in 2013 From Donatello to Lippi. Preliminary workshop. In 2002 he painted the painting " Pittori a Camerino" in the fifteenth century , in 2008, together with Matteo Mazzalupi, painters in Ancona in the fifteenth century , in 2015,Santa Maria Novella. From origins to late-gothic . He is working on the decoration of the beggars, especially Franciscan churches between the two and three centuries, and the evolution of the altarpiece between Gothic and Renaissance.
