Biography
Born on September 3, 1957. Degree in Physics cum laude (University of Florence) July 19, 1982. Since 2001 Associate Professor, Physics Department -University of Florence, previously assistant professor. Member of LENS staff since constitution. Local Scientific Coordinator of National and European Projects (2001, 2005, 2003-2007,2008). I spent one year (1992-93) as a consultant in the Department of Advanced Photonics -Bell Labs, Holmdel NJ, USA, working in the group of Dr. Jagdeep Shah on the ultrafast dynamics of resonantly excited excitons in III-V quantum wells. Main national and international active collaborations: CHREA-CNRS Valbonne (F), EPFL (Lausanne CH), COBRA, Eindhoven (NL), NIMS (Tsukuba, Japan), IMEM-CNR, Milan-Bicocca Univ. , Univ.Rome Tor-Vergata, Univ. Research Interest
Main research activity: Ultrafast spectroscopy of excitons and free-carriers in semiconductor nanostructures. Coauthor of more than 150 papers on high impact international journals and several oral presentations to international conferences and workshops.
