Research Interest
Morpho-functional and biochemical characterization of myoblastic cells, with particular reference to the mechanisms involved in the skeletal muscle differentiation process and the role played by bioactive lipids (sphingosine 1-phosphate) on this process. The role of bone marrow stenosis / stem cells (MSCs) isolated from bone marrow in the skeletal muscular regeneration process: study of molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate the interaction between MSC and myoblastic skeletal cells. Characterization of cardiac progenitor cells, analysis of the effects of the relassin hormone on such cells and the study of cellular and molecular interactions that these cardiac precursors establish with MSC cells to evaluate the potential of stem cells on cardiac regeneration. Study of the effects of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on the proliferation and differentiation of various cell types of the oral micro-environment and MSC cells in order to identify new therapeutic strategies for bone regeneration in patients with periodontal disease . Further studies of interest: Psychomotority and coordination skills of pre-school children. Correlation between Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference in school age children. Study of the role of ABC proteins in resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs of certain types of cancer cells. She is a member of the Italian Society of Anatomy and Histology (SIAI).
