Biography

Cristiana Sacco, in the academic year 1982/83 he enrolled in the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, Degree in Biological Sciences, of the University of Florence. On July 4, 1988, he graduated full time in Biological Sciences at the University of Florence, discussing a thesis on "Assessing the quality of drinking water from a microbiological point of view in a distribution network". His post-lauream internship took place partly in the Department of Public Health, Section of Hygiene, partly in the Department of Animal and Genetics Biology, Department of Faunistics and Tropical Ecology, University of Florence. In January 1990 she supported and passed the state examination for the qualification of a biologist. From 13/9/90 he is enrolled at the National Biological Register. From 2 January 1991 to 1 December 2002, he was the Assistant Engineer of the University of Florence at the Department of Public Health. As of 2 December 2002, as the winner of the competition, she has been the Researcher of the University of Florence at the Department of Public Health.

Research Interest

The research activity is mainly in the field of Environmental Hygiene and is documented by 92 scientific publications in national and international scientific journals and participation in Congresses. Since 1989 he has participated in national and international congress work. As part of the activities carried out at the Department of Hygiene at the Department of Public Health, Dr. Sacco conducted research on biological and chemical pollution of water, microbial ecology in the aquatic environment and marine aerosols. He conducted research on health risks related to wastewater and aerosols produced in purification plants. It has biotyped microbial strains isolated from different environmental matrices, with cytotoxicity and drug susceptibility assessment. It has sought specific bacterial strains in food and water conducting in order to assess the risk in the human field both in the nosocomial and in the community. It has developed analytical methodologies for evaluating the "in vitro" activity of some disinfectants, new synthesis molecules and natural extracts.
