Biography
Born in Florence on 20/9/1961. CURRICULUM STUDIORUM 1980 - Classical Matura at the Liceo Classico "Machiavelli", Florence. 1986 - Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence, with the highest grades and praise. 1987 - Lecturer of the National Academy of Lynchs at the Institute of Histology of the University of Florence, for biomedicine research 1988-90 - AIRC (Italian Association for Cancer Research) at the Institute of Histology of the University of Florence, for a research project on endocrine tumors of the pancreas 1989-92 - Contracted Professor at the School for Special Needs for Colposcytology Technician, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Florence 1992-2000 - Associate Professor of Histology (Scientific Subject E09B) at the Degree Course in Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Florence, November 11, 1992. Confirmed with effect from November 11, 1995. 2000-2003 - Extraordinary Professor of Histology (disciplinary disciplinary field E09B) from November 1, 2000. 2003-today - Ordinary Professor of Histology (Scientific sector BIO / 17) from November 1, 2003 (DR 178, 16335/2004 of April 8, 2004).
Research Interest
The main research fields faced by Prof. Bani relate mainly to topics of histophisiology, related to topics of endocrinology, immunology, oncology and odontostomatologia. In chronological order, they include searches on: Modifications of endocrine and human exocrine pancreas induced by chronic gastroentero hormone excess; The morphological aspects of exocrine and endocrine pancreas of laboratory rodents under normal conditions and experimental pathology; Morphology and histophysis of endocrine tumors of the pancreas; Accessory lymphocyte cells in normal and pathologic lymphoid tissue, in skin lymphoid infiltrates and in the inflammatory reaction to tumors; The biological effects and production sites of signal molecules (cytokines, nitrogen monoxide). The biological effects of the relassin hormone on organs, tissues and cells of the female reproductive system (breast, uterus), the cardiovascular apparatus, the respiratory system and the hemostatic and hematopoietic systems as well as on isolated or cultured cells such as cells endothelial and muscular smooth muscles, mast cells, platelets, human breast cancer adenocarcinoma MCF-7, inflammatory cells; Changes in rat masticatory muscles induced by alterations in physiological dental occlusion and possible pharmacological interventions; free radical scavenging (NO, ROS)
