Biography
Born in Sanremo in 1964. In 1990 he graduated in Medieval Art History with Adriano Peroni at the University of Florence, in 1995 he received his doctorate in History of Art at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" tutor Antonio Cadei, and from 1996 to 1998 he was post-doctoral fellow at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa with Enrico Castelnuovo. He has gained experience as a teacher, journalist, consultant for local authorities, cultural property inventor, honorary inspector of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. From May 1999 to October 2005, he was a historian of art director at the Superintendence for the Historical, Artistic and Ethno-Anthropological Heritage of Piedmont, where he was responsible for the territorial protection of the provinces of Alessandria and Verbania, and served as Director of Royal Reality in Turin (2001-2005). From 2002 to 2005 he was a lecturer at Comparative History of European Art at the University of Pisa. Since November 2005 he is an associate professor of History of Medieval Art and the Protection of Cultural Heritage at the University of Florence: where he heads from 2009 to 2014 the School of Specialization in Historical and Artistic Heritage. He has been eligible for an ordinary professor, and is waiting for a call. From November 1, 2016, he is president of the master's degree in Art History. Among his publications, the volumes Since November 2005 he is an associate professor of History of Medieval Art and the Protection of Cultural Heritage at the University of Florence: where he heads from 2009 to 2014 the School of Specialization in Historical and Artistic Heritage. He has been eligible for an ordinary professor, and is waiting for a call. From November 1, 2016, he is president of the master's degree in Art History.
