Biography
Graduated in Letters (1984-1985, with a thesis in Roman history, rapporteur G. Clemente), researcher in ancient history (1992, president of jurisdictions, A. Giardina), postdoctoral fellow at the University of Turin (1993-1994 ), researcher in Roman history since 1995, winner of a competition as associate professor of Roman history in 2002 (service takeover in 2004). Having achieved ASN 2012 qualification, he won the benchmarking and took up service in Florence in 2015 as an ordinary professor for SSD L-ANT / 03. Secretary of the University Consortium for Greek and Roman History from 2006 to 2008. Member of the Council of the Doctoral School in History of the University of Florence since 2008 and a member of the College of PhD students in Historical Studies (Florence-Siena). Member of the Departmental Council (DILEF, 2014-2018) and coordinator (from 2016) of the Department of Antiquity Middle Ages and Renaissance. Member of the Management Committee of the Papirological Institute "G. Vitelli" for the four-year period 2016-2019.
