Biography

Giovanni Vannucchi, born in Florence on 10/04/1950, graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Bologna in 1973, is an ordinary professor of geotechnics (SSD ICAR / 07) at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Florence.

Research Interest

 definition of seismic hazard and local effects in the Florentine area, - realization of the geo-environmental risk map (Research project on seismic microzonization - surveys on the liquefaction of the land Emilia-Romagna Region), - evaluation of local seismic effects in the main urban centers of Lunigiana and Garfagnana (Tuscany Region), - Catania project (CNR-GNDT), - seismic microsomulation Umbria - Marche (SSN and GNDT - CNR), - Characterization of the soils in the dynamic field for modeling the local seismic response in some Lombardy sites, - seismic microsomulation of the liquefaction risk of the coastal area of ​​Gioia Tauro (PRIN 2000), - innovative geotechnical technologies for the detection and perimeter of polluted sites (PRIN 2003), - innovative methods for assessing the seismic vulnerability and vulnerability of existing rolling tanks (PRIN 2008 - National Manager), - geotechnical study of the founding system of the New Palace of Justice in Florence, - geotechnical study of the feasibility of a micro-metro system for Florence.
