Biography
Born in Florence on 12/09/1953. • Classical Maturity in 1972. • Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1978 (110 and praise over 110 with publication of the thesis). • Specialization in Occupational Medicine in 1981 (70 and praise over 70). • Specialization in Pneumology (1984); in Medicine of Sport (1987). • Winner of National Competition for Professor Associate in Occupational Medicine in 1992. Since 1/11/1992 has been employed as Associate Professor in Occupational Medicine at the Department of Medicine of the Department of Orthopedic and Reconstructive Sciences and the Work of the University of Florence. • Since 1/11/1992 he has held the Doctor of Medicine of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence. • From 1/11/1996 holds the Teaching of Industrial Hygiene of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence. • Since 1/10/2002 he is the holder of the Teaching of Medicine of the Degree Course of Prevention Techniques of the University of Florence. • Since 1/11/1992 has been holder of the Hygiene of the Work of the Specialization Course in Occupational Medicine at the University of Florence. • Since 1/11/1994 he has held the teaching of Preventive Medicine of the Specialization Course in Occupational Medicine at the University of Florence. • He is also the holder of the Lectures of Medicine at the Specialization Courses in: Orthopedics and Traumatology; Immunology and Clinical Allergology; Pneumology, and at the three-year university degree courses of: Podology; Fisiochinesiterapia and Ortottica of the University of Florence. • He is author of over 200 scientific publications, including 89 in English. He has attended numerous national and international conferences as invited speaker. • He is the editor of the scientific magazine "Archives of the Science of Work". • He is a member of the following Scientific Societies: Italian Society of Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene (SIMLII); American Medical Therapeutic Society (ATS), European Respiratory Society (ERS), World Association on Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders (WASOG), International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), International Ergonomics Association (IEA) Italian Society of Ergonomics (SIE); • He has participated in numerous research projects, including as Head of Unit and / or Coordinator, including: "Virtual Environment for Onstruction Workers Instruction and Training" (funded by the European Economic Community); "Reversible pulmonary response to irritants: study on a hairdressing apprentice population", "Longitudinal evaluation of auditory function in young apprentices started at work: influence of exposure levels to noise in work environment and extracorporeal", "Evaluation of audiometric threshold in a population of young people before starting work "(commissioned by ISPESL). • He was appointed by the Rector of the University of Florence as a representative of the University within the Board of Directors of the Ergonomic Research Center of Florence
