Biography

Born in Warsaw (Poland) on 19.02.1958 Degree in Biology with Microbiology Specialization at the University of Warsaw (1982). Researcher at the Department of Biology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine in Warsaw (1982). Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Florence (1985). Anna Villa Rusconi Foundation scholarship for a study stay at the Department of Medical Microbiology at University College in London (1990). A scholarship awarded by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome for research aimed at combating AIDS (1991). A three-year scholarship awarded by the Orto Bartolomei Virological Research Foundation Courses to carry out research on human parvovirus B19 at a virology laboratory at the Department of Public Health of the University of Florence (1992). Scientific activity: Participation in national and international research projects concerning epidemiology, pathogenesis and laboratory diagnosis of viral diseases.
