Biography
Dr. Lorenzo Zammarchi graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2006 at the University of Florence with the highest grades and praise. In 2011 he received the Diploma of Specialization in Infectious Diseases at the School of Specialization of Infectious Diseases of the University of Florence with the highest marks and praise. During the period from November 2008 to May 2009, during the specialist training contract, he was Junior Project Officier for the Non-Governing Medical Association with Africa CUAMM at the Mikumi Hospital (Tanzania) within the project "Support to Health Services of Tanzania in 4 areas "funded by the Italian Foreign Ministry. From 2011 to 2013 she has been assigned research on health care activities at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, University of Florence for the European COHEMI Project (Coordinating Resources to Assess and Improve Health Status of MIgrants from Latin America) funded by the European Commission (COHEMI project HEALTH.2010.3.4-5 FP7 - GA 261495). In 2013 he obtained the Certificate in Travel Medicine (CTH®) issued by the International Society of Travel Medicine. From October 2013 he is a full-time, full-time A-type researcher (according to Law 240/2010) at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine at the University of Florence with counseling at SOD Infectious and Tropical Diseases of the ' Azienda Ospedale Universitaria di Careggi, Florence. Performs didactic, research and clinical activities in the field of Infectious and Tropical Diseases with a focus on international and migrant illnesses and pregnancy infectious diseases at the Regional Reference Center of the Tuscany Region for the Study and Disease Treatment Tropical and the Regional Reference Center of the Tuscany Region for Infections in Pregnancy. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Italian Society of Tropical Medicine and Global Health (SIMET) and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine. It is part of the editorial board of the following journals: Journal of Travel Medicine, Infection and Mediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases.
Research Interest
His main field of clinical and research activities is infectious tropical diseases, travel and migrant health and infectious diseases in pregnancy.
