Biography

Professor of Forest Management at the University of Florence, Department of Management of Agrarian, Food and Forestry Systems, GESAAF. He also teaches Forest Fire Prevention and Forest growth and yeld.

Research Interest

His research activities have mainly interested in the following fields: - forestry planning of municipal and private land properties, in Abruzzo, Tuscany, Campania, Calabria, Province of Trento and Lazio; - Quotations on the wood production of different forestry formations of natural origin, both coppice and high forest (Q. ilex, Fagus silvatica, Ostrya carpinifolia, Castanea sativa) and artificially grown (E. gen, fir, P. nigra, R. pseudoacacia); - the recreational function of the forest management plans in the Province of Trento; - the use of satellite images in the cartographic location of conifer stands (Pinus) in the Abruzzi region; - Management problems of the relict or historic forest stands. His current research projects are in the fields of: - restoration of selective beech coppices in Apennines; - the impact assessment of deers on fir regeneration in Foreste casentinesi National Park; - a database for the registration of logging in National Forest Forests. - the impact assessment of deers on fir regeneration in Foreste casentinesi National Park; - a database for the registration of logging in National Forest Forests. - the impact assessment of deers on fir regeneration in Foreste casentinesi National Park; - a database for the registration of logging in National Forest Forests.
