Maria Boddi

Biography

Maria Boddi in 1978 obtained the Proficiency Certificate of the University of Cambridge and in 1982 graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence (1982) with the highest grades and praise and praise. In 1982 she won a scholarship of the Ministry of Public Education for the attendance at the School of Specialization in Internal Medicine (1982-1987). She is Research Doctor in Clinical Physiopathology, Specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a University Researcher (MED09) since 1994. In 2004 he was the winner of the competition for Professor Associate in Internal Medicine who was banned from the University of Florence. He is a professor at the School of Specialization in Internal Medicine of the University of Florence and is a member of some Scientific Societies (Italian Society of Internal Medicine, Italian Society for the Study of Emostasis and Thrombosis). He has participated as a co-investigator and more recently as scientific director of Research Units at National Scientific Research Projects funded by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Research

Research Interest

His researches were mainly oriented towards the study of local autocrine systems with particular interest in the role of the sympathetic cardiac system in the modulation of coronary tone in unstable angina (Neri Serneri et al. Circulation 1993) and in the early stages of the development of hypertrophy physiological athlete (NS et al. Circ Res 2001). More recently, the involvement of the sympathetic vascular arm system in the pathogenesis of Raynaud's phenomenon (Microvasc Res 2006) has been demonstrated.
