Biography
Born in Florence in September 1952, married with offspring. Diploma of Scientific Maturity in 1971. Degree in Geological Sciences in January 1976 at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Florence, with a vote of 110/110 + Lode. Already CNR Leader at the Appennine Geology Study Center in relation to the Mediterranean geosynthetics, and a University Researcher of Structural Geology at the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Florence, is currently Associate Professor of Structural Geology ( GEO / 03) at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Florence.
Research Interest
RESEARCH FIELDS a) Geological, geomechanical, geostructural and safety issues related to planning, design and execution of engineering works with high social and environmental impacts, ie tunnels and dams. b) Geology and geo-mining of stone resources, technical and environmental concerns of mining and quarrying, geomechanical characterization and evaluation for the stability and safety, optimization of exploitation of the reserve, general organization of work for the safety and preparation of technicians in charge of construction management and security. c) Geological and geo-structural assessment of the Northern Apennines, with respect to thrust, brittle and ductile deformation. d) Issues related to environmental geology and geological hazards of urban, industrial and major infrastructures
