University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, magna cum laude 1989 - III cycle PhD in Energy Present position: Full Professor of Energy Systems and Environment at the University of Florence. Coordinator of PhD "Industrial Engineering" Coordinator of National Alliance (ex PTI) "Concentrate Solar" (MIUR 2012) Expert & Reviewer for EU and ministries, chair and member of various committees National & International. Author of many publications (Journals / Magazines and conferences) in the field of Machinery and Energy Systems. Coordinator (of group) with predominantly activities in: • Modeling, Design, Development and Testing of Solar System, Solar Coling System and Solar Heating & Cooling (SHC), Absorption Chiller (H2O-NH3), Solar PTC Concentrators (for CSP, Heating, DSG Direct Steam Generation) • Modeling, design development of concentrated photovoltaic systems (CVP and CPV / T). • Development of sensors and control systems for energy systems and solar micro-cogeneration.
