- Qualifications 1989: Degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Florence. 1995: PhD in Applied Geology, Geomorphology and Hydrogeology, University of Perugia. - Past positions 1990-91: Fellow at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Florence; 1992-94: Ph.D. at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Florence; 1995: Post-doctoral at the Department of Civil Engineering, College Park, University of Maryland (USA); 1996-97: Post-doctoral at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Florence; 1998-99: Research Associate at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Florence; 1999-2005: Researcher for GEO / 05 (Applied Geology) Research Department at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Florence - Actual position Since 2005: Associate Professor for the GEO / 05 Scientific Field (Applied Geology) at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Florence
Research Interest
River Dynamics. Morphological changes and evolution of river basins and effects of antropic interventions. Monitoring, modeling and analysis of erosion processes and breakdown mechanisms of river banks. Fluvial geomorphology applied to the management and upgrading of river basins.
