Biography
She was born in Uxbridge, UK. In June 1977 he graduated in English literature at the University of Cambridge (where he was awarded a 'choral scholarship' at St John's College). In 1983 he earned the title of Master of Letters in English Literature at the University of Oxford (New College) with a thesis on Walter Pater's narrative work. From 1983 to 1988 he was an English-language reader at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, where he also actively participated in art history seminars (Paola Barocchi) and the history of medieval art (Enrico Castelnuovo). From November 1988 until 1999 he was an English language reader at the Interdisciplinary Language Center of the University of Pisa, where he held general and specialist English courses at all levels, as well as thematic lessons, translation from Italian into English and on English Phonology. He was appointed lecturer in English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literature at the University of Pisa in 1993, a title which was reconfirmed in 1994 and again in 1995 for the three-year period 1994-1997. In this role he mainly carried out counseling for students working on the thesis. In 1991 he was invited by the Guild of St George and the Ruskin Museum in Sheffield to write the catalog for the exhibition 'Ruskin and Tuscany', set up in 1993 at the Italian Academy of London, the Ruskin Museum in Sheffield and the Fondazione Ragghianti Lucca (the catalog was published by Lund Humphries).
