Biography
Pier Andrea Mandò , born in Florence, 20/08/1950 - graduated in Physics with praise at the University of Florence in July 1973 with a thesis on experimental nuclear physics at the Technische Universitaet in Monaco thanks to the winning of a bag Della Riccia study. In 1978 he served as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics. Fis. Nat. of the University of Florence. In 1984 he was Associate Professor of General Physics.
Research Interest
His research activities (always experimental) were devoted in the first decade after the degree of problems in basic nuclear physics (spectroscopy of nuclei in the f 7/2 and g 9/2 shells). Since the mid-eighties, he began to be increasingly involved in the application of nuclear techniques, especially to problems related to cultural heritage and environmental physics. Around him, a group of younger researchers was formed, who progressively became a reference point, at an international level, in the mentioned fields.
